Consultation

HHR actively engages stakeholders and community members to bridge the gap between research initiatives and the local community. Initially, through formative research HHR assessed community’s perception, religious doctrines, values and norms on child and maternal health and acceptability of HHR activities in the community. Based on the findings, divers consultative platforms are established  to advise HHR on research activities including:

Community Based Organizations (CBOs)

Community Advisor Board (CAB)

Religious Organizations

Furthermore, as the population in the catchment is predominantly Muslim, HHR closely works with Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Council, particularly East Hararghe zone council, to ensure research activities align with Islamic ethical guidelines (Fatwa).
