Project Summary
This study tries to address some of the important question related to meningitis in Ethiopia the incidence of meningitis by age; by pathogen; by serotype; and the overall disease burden in Ethiopia; and propose policy alternatives for vaccines (e.g. Men ACWYX).
Given the available health information related to meningitis, we have identified four areas where the integration of new and existing data, coupled with effective communication and advocacy have the potential to impact on the public health problem of meningitis/sepsis and meningococcal disease locally (in the CHAMPS surveillance area), regionally (in Eastern Ethiopia) and nationally and act to reduce child mortality.
