Project Summary

The Meningococcal Antibody Study is being conducted to understand the levels of immunity against Meningococcal bacteria in Ethiopia. This study looks at the prevalence of antibodies against Meningococcal serogroups A and X in two different regions of Ethiopia.

This research examines how immunity changes over time, especially after vaccination campaigns. It aims to understand how long vaccine protection lasts and what happens when people are not vaccinated. By studying these patterns, researchers can predict the risk of future meningitis outbreaks, which helps in planning vaccination campaigns and other preventive measures. Furthermore, the study investigates various factors that influence the presence of antibodies, such as age, health status, and previous infections.
