Beyond Research: HHR Team Serves Over 465 Community Members with Essential Health Services

HHR’s team provided a health service through two impactful community health outreach campaigns in Haramaya (Qerensa kebele) and Kersa (Haro Arba kebele) catchment areas.

A diverse team—including Pediatricians, Doctors, senior Nurses, Midwives, and public health experts—worked diligently to provide medical care to over 465 community members, with a focus on children and mothers from the surrounding villages.

The campaigns prioritized sustainable health improvements by delivering crucial health education sessions on:

  • Infant and Maternal Nutrition: Practical advice on nutritious food preparation for infants, pregnant, and lactating mothers.
  • Safe Maternal Practices: Detailed guidance on Antenatal Care (ANC) follow-ups and recognizing danger signs during pregnancy.
  • Preventive Health: Promoting healthy behaviors to prevent illness and improve overall maternal and child health.

These community health outreach campaigns are part of HHR’s commitment to go beyond research, fostering healthier communities and advancing maternal and child health across Ethiopia.
