Hararghe Health Research (HHR) is expanding Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) program in Kilite Awlalo HDSS, based at Mekelle University.
HHR team recently held a productive discussion to launch CHAMPS activities in the Kilite Awlaelo HDSS. During the discussion, Dr. Fana Hagos Berhane, President of Mekelle University, mentioned that CHAMPS’ expansion will open a new chapter in research excellence, and strengthens evidence-based interventions to improve maternal and child health in Ethiopia.
The team also met with Dr. Tsegay Berihu, Deputy Head of the Tigray Regional Health Bureau, and Dr. Hayelom Kahsay, Director General of the Tigray Health Research Institute (THRI) to ensure a strong collaborative framework.
This expansion lays a strong foundation for impactful research and informed interventions, aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes across Ethiopia.
