Study/research: Using seroprevalence of Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A and X to advance introduction of conjugate Meningococcal vaccines in Ethiopia
PI/PIS: Professor Anthony Scott/ Yadeta Dessie
Lead Institution: Haramaya University, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Ethiopian Public Health
Implementation Year: 2022-2024
Status of the project: In Progress
Funder: Wellcome Trust
Project Summary
The objective of this study is to estimate the breadth of variation of the CCR across different settings and the extent to which this can be explained by co-variates in a statistical regression model; to test the validity of disease prediction from carriage observations; and to reveal the temporal dynamics of pneumococcal transmission and model disease in sites in Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
